WESH Meteorologist Alex Alecci says that working at the Orlando station was a dream come true. But, when his contract came up at the Hearst station, Alecci was not very impressed with what the station was offering.

So, he decided to walk.

Here is part of what he posted to social media about leaving.

“I’ve always joked around saying that if I ever curse on TV, I’d become a pilot. Well I didn’t curse but after a disappointing contract negotiation, I’ve decided to leave TV in June and pursue a career in aviation. Working at WESH has been a dream come true but with a wife that I’m looking to support, I can’t settle for stagnant pay.”

The TV industry must pay better, or as the old saying goes, you will get what you paid for.

Alecci was bold enough to walk instead of signing a lowball contract and not being happy.
