Not exactly TV news related, but newsworthy nonetheless….

BuzzFeed News is shutting down its operation.

CEO Jonah Peretti wrote a company memo that they "can no longer continue to fund" the site. 

The site is known for millennial-friendly content filled with listicles and viral videos, said it is also cutting 15% of its employee base, or about 180 workers.

BuzzFeed News is the section of the site that produces journalism and news coverage.

In other words, the crap stays, and the journalism is gone.

Troubling news for the news industry.
