Reporter is Bumped Up to the Big Chair

Nexstar’s WJET (Erie, PA) announced that Corey Morris has been appointed as the station's new News Director, effective immediately.

Morris, who has been serving as a digital reporter for the station. He previously served as the regional editor of seven weekly publications in Seattle, and editor of a weekly newspaper in Montesano.

"We are thrilled to have Corey stepping into the role of News Director," said the station's management team. "His enterprise ideas, storytelling abilities, and digital growth mindset, combined with his passion for serving Erie, made him the ideal candidate for this position."

Sean Lafferty, the current News Director, will provide a smooth transition for Morris in his new role. Lafferty will return to anchoring the evening and late news for the station.
