That's a Slippery Slope

KBTX (Bryan, Texas) Rusty Surette’s dad passed away.

As someone that has lost both parents, we know just how hard this is and pass on our condolences.

Surette setup a fundraiser seeking nearly $10,000 dollars to cover his dad’s funeral expenses.

He then took to his station-branded social media to ask the public to help out.

While I can certainly understand the need for money, I feel that using your station-branded account to try and do so sets off a bad precedent.

It’s a tough situation, but I feel this might have crossed an ethical line.
