Musical Chairs In Cincinnati

Sources in the Natty tell FTVLive that Gray’s WXIX is shuffling around the talent in an effort to boost ratings.

“The morning team is all over the place. The viewers never know who to expect to be delivering their news, and the ratings are reflecting it,” said a station insider to FTVLive.

On Wednesday morning, the traffic anchor, Stefano DiPietrantonio, was tasked with doing weather, traffic, and reading news headlines.

Our source says that starting in April, Dan Wells is being pulled from the anchor desk during the 8 am hour, replaced by DiPietrantonio. Lauren Minor is being pulled off the 10am hour and replaced by reporter Jordan Vilines.

DiPietrantonio and Andrea Finney are both being replaced at 11am with anchor/reporters Amber Jayanth and Jessica Schmidt from the afternoon shows.

In the afternoon, Tricia Macke is being pulled back to anchor more hours and shore up a weak spot in the afternoon ratings. Former reporter Megan O’Rourke is also returning to FOX19 Now in the afternoons.

The source says that Producers are also being moved all over the place to accommodate an understaffed newsroom. Several producers have left in recent months without being replaced.
