Gone in OKC

Yesterday, FTVLive told you about more problems at Griffin’s KWTV (Oklahoma City) after making a move into their brand new “state-of-the-art” building.

Earlier this week, the station could not get a newscast on the air with severe weather moving through the DMA. The word is that an audio board was to blame this time.

The move to the new building has been anything but smooth, and some station insiders believe that is what cost their boss his job.

Griffin Corporate News Director Todd Spessard is headed for the exit.

Spessard had been the news director at KWTV, hired from KOKI in Tulsa. He was then bumped up to oversee KWTV and KOTV in Tulsa.

It is not being called a firing, but insiders think that Spessard was pushed out due to the messy move into the new building.

I’m not sure you can blame all the problems on one person, but in the world of TV, you need to blame someone.
