Yesterday, FTVLive told you that WTOC (Savannah) would be pre-empting a portion of March Madness on Friday, so they can air a local St. Patrick’s Day parade.

FTVLive wrote, “Why not put the parade on a sub-channel and run a crawl over the basketball game to tell people where it is?”

Well, we received an email from WTOC GM Marsha B. Fogarty, informing us that they are doing just that, but backward.

Here’s her email:

Just saw the FTV Live story on WTOC preempting March Madness. We are airing the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on our main channel but will be streaming the game live on our secondary Bounce channel until the parade is over.
We’ve been doing it that way for years -nothing new! We will have a news ticker message airing beginning at 6pm tonight to inform viewers and have already been communicating it on-air.
Please correct if you can – don’t want misinformation out there.

I would have done it the other way, but I’m sure sales had a lot more spots available In the parade then they did CBS’s game coverage.
