/The LIV Golf TV ratings wete dismal on Uncle Perry’s CW network.
LIV Golf kicked off it’s 2023 season after paying Nexstar to air its tournaments on the CW.
LIV tried to get other networks and outlets to carry their tournaments, but they all turned down the Saudi back tour.
Finally, LIV found someone just greedy enough to take their money and air the golf tournaments, Nexstar.
The new season started but it seems that its TV rating has turned out to be a total let down.
It’s TV deal with The CW network is reported to have not delivered strong numbers for its LIV Golf Mayakoba Invitational event. The rating for the event’s Saturday viewership according to one source “was almost worse than anyone could’ve expected.”
The Sports Business Journal said the event drew only a 0.2 rating on Saturday for its network TV debut in the 26 measured markets.
For context, that means that, of the measured households, only 0.2% of them watched the golf broadcast on Saturday.
Although it is early days, it looks like LIV Golf has a lot of work to do in order to grow interest and, more pressingly, viewership moving forward.
