Tegna Sale Looks to be Nearing a Close

It has been 300 days, and there appeared to be no end in sight, but that is changing.

The DOJ has finally signed off on the deal to sell Tegna to Standard General, and now the FCC needs to do the same.

The agreement to the sale has been extended for another 90 days, but, likely, it won’t take that long.

It is expected that the FCC will give its approval on the sale, and the deal should close in either late March or early April.

Cox Media is also part of the deal that will put the Tegna Texas stations into the Cox portfolio.
