No News is No News
/Nexstar’s KCAU (Sioux City) was canceling newscasts, which they were blaming “technical difficulties” as the reason.
The station posted to their social media that a number of newscasts would not air (Hello, February book?).
But here is where I smell something fishy.
On the station’s website, they wrote:
“KCAU 9 News won’t have our midday newscast Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., but we plan to air newscasts Tuesday at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. Wednesday morning, Good Day Siouxland at 5 a.m. won’t air, but the 6 a.m. newscast will run as normal. Also Wednesday, KCAU 9 News at 11:30 a.m. will air normally.”
Wait, you can’t do the news at 11:30AM, but you have no problem putting on a 5, 6, and 10PM newscast. Then you can’t do a 5AM show the next day, but you can put on the 6 AM newscast.
So what kind of “technical difficulty” lets you put on the news in one hour, but not the next?
This doesn’t pass the smell test if you ask me.
