Miami Bound

Betty Nguyen has been announced as the new morning news co-anchor for CBS O&O WFOR (Miami).

The news was announced by Darryll Green, president and general manager of WFOR.

Nguyen is returning to CBS, where she previously served as a network morning news anchor and correspondent from 2010 to 2013. She also held anchor roles at NBC News, CNN and most recently, WPIX-TV in New York.

“I am so excited to be coming ‘home’ to CBS,” Nguyen said. “I made dear friends and was proud to be a part of so many monumental moments during my years with CBS in New York and Dallas-Fort Worth. And now I look forward to adding several wonderful new chapters to my history with this company as I work alongside my colleagues at CBS Miami and embrace this opportunity to report on the vibrant and diverse communities here in South Florida.”

Green expressed his excitement at having Nguyen join the CBS Miami team, saying, “It’s not every day that you get an opportunity to recruit someone who has been honored by the Smithsonian as a pioneer in television news, and had her reporting recognized with major industry awards on so many occasions. We are excited to have her join our CBS Miami team and partner with Keith, Lissette and Austin on our morning newscasts.”

She starts her new gig on March 13th.
