Former ABC News Reporter Busted on Child Porn Charges

Child Pornography Charge for Former ABC News Reporter James Gordon Meek

Charges brought against Meek, a former ABC News Reporter.

Meek has been charged with transportation of child pornography by federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia. The charges come after the FBI raided Meek's home in October 2022, seizing his laptop and other electronic devices.

According to the unsealed affidavit, the FBI found a cache of horrific images and text messages exchanged by Meek on Kik and other messaging apps. The messages were reportedly sent under the username "Pawny4" and contained graphic descriptions of sexual abuse towards children. Some of the messages even contained suggestions of actual acts of sexual abuse, with lines such as "Have you ever raped a toddler girl? It's amazing."

The other electronic devices seized from Meek's house had similar communications and numerous images of child pornography, according to the same affidavit.

If found guilty, the transportation of child pornography carries a severe punishment and could result in a lengthy prison sentence.

Meek's attorney has not responded to requests for comment as of yet.
