Leaving The Firm

After more than 4 decades at The Firm’s KSAZ (Phoenix), weekend Anchor Linda Williams is leaving the station.

"It's been a phenomenal party, but it's just time to go," Williams told The Arizona Republic.

Williams started with Fox 10 in 1981, when it was known as KOOL-TV. Most recently she has worked as co-anchor of weekend newscasts. She began her career at the PBS station in Phoenix in 1979. She is a graduate of Arizona State University.

So why leave now?

"Just a combination of things all came together," Williams said. "You know, part of it is my financial person says don't let a birth certificate tell you when to retire. But I will be 65 shortly. And I just want to do other things while I'm still 'spry.' 'Spry' is with quote marks around it, by the way."
