"It Was an Intense Process..."

I never new that hiring a new weather anchor would be such an “intense process,” but apparently it was for WKOW in Madison.

The station announced that on January 8th, Cameron Hopman will join 27 News weeknights at 4, 5, 6 and 10pm as their new Chief Meteorologist.

“It was an intense process to find the right person to fit our evening news team,” said WKOW News Director Dani Maxwell, “It was important for us to not only find someone who would meet the high expectations we have for our 27 Storm Track weather team but would also find ways to connect with our audience. We’re confident that Cam’s warmth and expertise will quickly make his forecasts a part of our viewers’ nightly routines.”

“I am thrilled to be joining an incredible team in such a wonderful, close-knit community. My family and I could not ask for a better place to call home and we look forward to making Madison exactly that,” said Hopman.

He comes from WEVV in Evansville.
