Bumped Up or Demoted in Milwaukee?

When you talk to General Managers and News Directors, they often tell you that the morning newscasts have become the most important newscasts at the station.

WISN (Milwaukee) announced that morning Anchor Diana Gutiérrez is moving to the 10 PM newscast.

Gutiérrez fills the lineup spot vacated when news anchor Joyce Garbaciak decided in September to trim her duties to anchoring the station's 6 p.m. newscast, so she could spend more time with her family.

The station is calling her move a promotion.

But, I though the morning show had become the most important.

I love the communications business.
