Sinclair Strikes Again

Back in September, Sinclair sent out a release saying that KUNS (Seattle, Washington) would begin airing CW Network programming beginning Jan. 1,

KUNS is a Univision affiliate and the only station in the market that did a local newscast in Spanish.

Sinclair never mentioned in the release that there would no longer be a Univision station in the market, nor did they mention the Spanish language newscast would be no more.

Sinclair was screwing over the Spanish-speaking viewers and didn’t have the guts to tell them.

When contacted by the Seattle Times, Sinclair admitted that the newscast is going away and that KUNS will be broadcast in English.

Sinclair spokesperson Jessica Bellucci said that KUNS and sister station KOMO “remain committed to covering local news, issues, and events that hold significance for the Hispanic community in the Pacific Northwest.”

Of course, those people better speak English, otherwise, they’re screwed.

Good job, Sinclair.
