Gallup is out with a new poll that shows just 7% of Americans have "a great deal" of trust and confidence in the media, and 27% have "a fair amount." Meanwhile, 28% of U.S. adults say they do not have very much confidence and 38% have none at all in newspapers, TV and radio.

This is the first time that the percentage of Americans with no trust at all in the media is higher than the percentage with a great deal or a fair amount combined.

TV stations continue to do the same things and hope for a different result.

It is time for TV news departments to get back to doing real journalism. Stop with the crap, stop with the stupid shit on social media and embrace real journalism.

At the end of every newscast, look at how many stories your station truly broke. How many stories were taken from the newspaper or other media? What stories did you do in the newscast that had an impact on the viewers watching?

It is time for local news to take a hard look in the mirror because what you’re doing now is not working.
