This is the No. 2 Market
/How times have changed…
The CBS O&O in LA’s latest job posting for a Reporter position tells the applicant that they must be willing to shoot with a consumer-grade camera.
So, CBS can’t invest in something better than a camera off the shelf at Walmart?
The salary range for the job is $84,865 - $107,435 a year.
Now, that’s nothing to sneeze at compared to the appallingly small salaries offered in other markets But $84 grand doesn’t go real far in LA.
Is this what Journalists in smaller markets are working towards? Is this basically the best they can expect to earn in their career if they REALLY make it to the No. 2 market?
No wonder people are quitting left and right.
This is really sad.
