Standard General Launches Website About Tegna Deal

It has been nearly a year since Standard General announce their plans to buy Tegna.

The FCC has dragged their feet on the proposed deal and Standard General is trying to do all they can to push this deal over the goal line.

The company has now launched a website which is titled “Standard General and TEGNA Facts”

It includes entries such as this.

Look, I’m all for this deal to go through, as I for one have looked at Tegna as a cancer on the world of Journalism.

From Tegna’s hiring of comics to anchor news, to approach to TV news which is watered down fluff.

I really hope that Standard General can turn the Tegna stations around. But, I have to ask, when SG says they will “….enhance competition among local television broadcasters in every market….” how exactly will they do that?

If someone from Standard General wants to explain that to me, with the corporate bullshit speak, I will share it here on FTVLive.
