As Good Morning America has been expanding their ratings lead on NBC’s Today Show, GMA host Robin Roberts has announced that she is stepping away from the morning program.

Roberts announced that she will be taking some time away from the show after her partner, Amber Laign, finished radiation treatments for breast cancer.

Roberts herself is a cancer survivor.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2007 and then battled myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare blood disorder, five years later.

She did not say how long her planned leave is.

This comes on the heels of rumors that Savannah Guthrie could be pushed out at NBC’s Today Show.

NBC has watched its ratings start to slip and insiders tell FTVLive that the network is entering full panic mode.
