Dear Dan....

Dan Delgado was named the News Director at Scripps’ KXXV in Waco back in May.

Insiders tell FTVLive that Delgado rarely comes out of the office and doesn’t speak to anyone except to tell them how bad they are. “He has sent multiple rude emails and calls people out in front of everyone,” said a station insider.

MMJ Kristina Davis sent an email of her own to Delgado to ask him some questions about what is going on?

FTVLive obtained a copy of that email:

Dear Dan,

Please advise me how we should address these matters which relates to a lack of resources.

  1. WIFI: it is still down at the bureau, the IT team have been to the station countless times it’s still not fixed (seems like it’s something that’s beyond their control) This affects my productivity throughout the day , making me have to go to Starbucks or rely on my phone for hotspot internet..as I don’t have a functioning mifi which I mentioned to Mike (he noted it) .

  2. AIR CONDITION: it hardly works. As a matter of fact Dan you came in the bureau on one of your first days and had to leave because of the heat. Unfortunately , I can’t leave, the windows can’t open and there’s no ventilation. Again, a colleague mentioned this yesterday “why is it so hot in here?” and I said nothing much because it’s the norm.

  3. A constant foul scent in the office which smells like either mold according to some and according to others in the building ( it smells like it’s coming from the bathroom toilets)

  4. WATER: It’s disappointing, on top of frequently having no air condition and no ventilation there is also no drinking water for us in this heat.

  5. Human Resources: while we enjoy preparing our stories: in spite of working our long excessive hours and are not paid for over time, we were encouraged to take our “hour” break for lunch to avoid over time. - However, because of a lack of Human Resources such as : no assignments editor to help us properly vet our stories to give us time to get those “humans that are relatable to viewers in every story”, little to no photogs to help get those creative stand ups and watch our backs for safety in some cases and to simply be more creative for our viewers, we are unable to take the hour lunch break ; because if we did… we would not meet our many deadlines.

I understand we signed up to work in a fast paced , deadline driven environment.

However, how prepared and “strong” can our story telling abilities be in such working conditions with such poor Human Resources?

Dan, please advise us how we can put our heads together to permanently address the above issues and/or get the Killeen bureau as functioning as the Waco station.

Respectfully,

Kristina
