Free Trip to DC?

I have not heard of this happening, but if it is, it is a bit disturbing. A TV news person sent this email to FTVLive.
Surprised you haven't picked up on stations accepting invitations from the White House for all expense paid trips for talent to attend the signing of the Inflation Act yesterday. We're on the East coast and our station declined saying it's unethical unless we foot the bill.
A Hearst station in town sent a reporter.
As I said, I haven’t heard of this happening, but If your station accepted this, I suggest you look for a new station to work at that has better ethics.
Sources tell FTVLive that KOAT, the Hearst station in Albuquerque is one of those that took the White House up on the free trip to DC.
KOAT Reporter Royale Da even included video on her Instagram of the fancy hotel room that she is staying In that apparently, you and I (taxpayers) are helping pay for.
