Let the Poor Thing Go...

WLKY (Louisville) Anchor Jennifer Baileys stood holding a just hatched baby sea turtle in her hand for more clicks on her social media.

The baby turtle was struggling to get away and into the ocean as Baileys held it closer to the camera in an effort to garner more views.

I urge anyone that sees a just hatched baby sea turtle, not to grab it and pick it up for social media views. Try and guide the turtle to the ocean, where it can hopefully start it’s journey to a full life.

Picking it up and having it struggle and panic so you can shoot some selfies is NOT the way to do it.
