Everything Wrong with TV News in One IG Post

Right now, the trust in local TV news is at the lowest point it has ever been.

There are many reasons for why that is, but here is a big reason.

WOIO (Cleveland) Anchor/Reporter Rachel Vadaj posted on her Instagram about her appearance in a local magazine.

Her post started off with this, “When I grow up • Be on TV • People know me • Be on magazines”

Nothing about journalism, nothing about reporting impactful stories, nothing about making the world a better place through journalism.

Nope, just, I want to be on TV, people know me, and be on magazines.

If someone were to ask me why trust in TV news is at a historic low, I would point them to this post.

Maybe WOIO News Director Ian Rubin should change his hiring practices and hire Journalists and not people that want to be on TV and in magazines.
