New Chief Met Named in Miami
/Ivan Cabrera is joining WFOR CBS Miami as its Chief Meteorologist.
Cabrera will be seen on WFOR’s weekday newscasts at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 7:00 and 11:00 p.m. He will also be seen on the station’s streaming service, CBS News Miami.
The announcement was made today by WFOR GM Darryll Green.
Born in Cuba, Cabrera grew up in Miami and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He holds the AMS Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Prior to joining CBS Miami, Cabrera served as Chief Meteorologist for KOB 4 and Telemundo in Albuquerque. Before heading to New Mexico, Ivan served as a meteorologist for CNN and HLN. He has also worked as a meteorologist for WFTS-TV in Tampa, WESH-TV in Orlando, and at The Weather Company.
