From Pittsburgh for Cleveland

You might not know it, but the people in Pittsburgh hate the people in Cleveland and vice versa.

It all goes back to the Cleve Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry.

But, one Burgh TV Reporter is looking forward to making a move to the dark side.

WPXI Reporter Mike Holden is leaving the Cox station and headed to WEWS in Cleveland.

For Holden, this is a return home. He grew up watching WEWS and interned at the station while earning his degree in broadcast journalism from Kent State University.

He also points out his desire to be nearer to family stemmed from the fact his father has been ill for a while with stage-five kidney disease and Type 2 diabetes. He has been in and out of the hospital a lot lately, and Holden has spent many weekends finishing up his WPXI shifts and immediately driving to Cleveland.

“Time is extremely important,” Holden told the Post-Gazette. “I’m not getting any younger and neither are my parents. I just know that the time is right and I know that coming back here is so important right now because of that.”

So, this might be one case where those in the Burgh understand why someone would willfully move to Cleveland.

They might.
