Not Exactly "Breaking News"

Some southwest Florida viewers were asking how can it be “breaking news” when it happened 3 day ago.

WINK (Ft. Myers) pushed out a “Breaking News Alert” about a guy that was sentenced to life in prison on child porn charges.

They posted the story to their website on Monday and included the link in the push alert.

Bet here’s the thing, WFTX did the same story, but they posted it on Friday, or 3 days before WINK had the story.

I know TV stations have found it more difficult to define what “breaking news” is, but I’m fairy certain, this isn’t it.
