News on the Very Cheap

On the very appropriate April Fool’s Day, KAIL-TV in Fresno launched the station’s first newscast.

Many stations are trying to do news on the cheap, but I’m not sure that you can do it much cheaper than this.

The 8PM newscast is anchored by one guy.

Austin Reed appears to be coming from his basement with the newscast that has a cheap curtain for a backdrop and a milk crate for light stands.

The newscast doesn’t have any Reporters, the weather segment is just a screenshot of the National Weather Service page and sports is hosted by a podcaster.

You can watch the very first newscast below.
