CNN+ is a Bust

FTVLive predicted that CNN+ would be failure in its current state, but even we are shocked at just how badly it is doing.

CNN spent somewhere between $100 and $300 million bucks to launch the streaming service and is sitting around the 10,000 user mark.

CNN offered up the service for half price at just $2.99 a month and it still has seen little to no interest.

CNN expected to reach 2 million subscribers within its first year and 15 million to 18 million by the end of year four, at which point it would break even on its investment.

At this point, there is no way in hell that is happening.

Under Discovery you will likely see CNN+ bundled in with other streamers like HBO and the Food Network. You can also expect that Discovery will drastically cut costs at CNN+ and it is likely as a stand alone platform, CNN+ will never be profitable.
