Shooting Inside the Tent

It appears that KCNC (Denver) Reporter Marissa Armas isn’t scared of taking a few shots inside the CBS tent.

KCNC is a CBS O&O, but that didn’t stop Armas from raising an issue with a CBS News Correspondent.

CBS Senior Foreign Correspondent Charlie D’Agata was reporting from Kyiv, Ukraine when he said Friday that Ukraine “isn’t a place, with all due respect, like Iraq or Afghanistan, that has seen conflict raging for decades.

“This is a relatively civilized, relatively European — I have to choose those words carefully, too — city, where you wouldn’t expect that or hope that it’s going to happen,” he said.

Armas took to social media to call out D’Agata for his comments.

After the blowback from a number of outlets, D’Agata tried to put the toothpaste back in the tube. “I spoke in a way I regret, and for that I’m sorry,” he said, adding that he was trying to convey that Ukraine hasn’t seen “this scale of war” in recent years, unlike other countries.”

I’m not sure that is what he was trying to say and I think Armas was correct in her criticism, although, I’m not sure the suits at CBS are happy with it.
