Station to Hand out $5,000 Bonuses
/After many stations cut employees pay or furloughed workers during the pandemic, last year a number of station groups finally handed out some bonuses to the staff.
More often than not, the bonus did not make up for the money that the company took away, but at least the money was following the right direction this time.
But, when it comes to bonuses, most of those organizations are being put to shame by Capitol Broadcasting, the owner of WRAL.
FTVLive has named WRAL as one of the best stations to work for and this latest move is just another example of why that is.
The company announced that WRAL employees will be given a $5,000 bonus.
Not $500 bucks, but $5,000 dollars and it is being handed out to every employee.
It is here that we should point out that WRAL owner Capitol Broadcasting is not a publicly held company, but a private company.
Because of that, they care about their employees more than the stockholders and they show that care with cold-hard cash.
So, they decided to hand out an “appreciation bonus” and I’m sure that the staff appreciated very much.
It feels so good to tell a positive story about a station that really does value its employees.
