Michael Bass is one of three people that have been tapped to replace Jeff Zucker in the interim as the network looks for a new boss.

On the morning call yesterday, Bass told the staff:

"I know we're all in shock," Michael Bass said on CNN's 9am editorial call. "You can't replace Jeff. It's not possible. There's no one else like him." So "the best thing we can do is honor his legacy and continue his mission." "Do what we've been doing every single day."

Jeff Zucker drove CNN ratings off a cliff.

He hired people (I.e. Cuomo) that had no ethics.

He kept a talent on staff despite the fact the guy masturbated on a Zoom call with co-workers.

He blew up the morning show more times than you can count and it still sucks.

And, he was dating a CNN staff member that worked under him.

As Bass said, “You can't replace Jeff. It's not possible. There's no one else like him."
