WAND (Decatur) News Anchor Alyssa Patrick gave viewers a sneak peek behind the scenes just 3 minutes before the newscast went on the air.

While I have no problem with the post and giving viewers a look behind the scenes (much better than posting some stupid dance video) I am a bit surprised at how dead the studio is just before air time.

The only action in the studio is Patrick spinning on her chair and this guy who appears to be mopping a portion of the studio floor.

Thanks to stations trying to save money, there is no longer studio camera people, or floor directors or AP’s running around.

Just an Anchor, her phone, and a guy to mop the floor.

That’s the reality, but when you are posting “behind the scene” videos for viewers, can’t you make it a bit more exciting.

This video was about as exciting as panning a funeral home.

Just saying….
