It should have happened a long time ago, but it finally happened yesterday.

Jeff Zucker was fired from CNN.

Jeff Zucker is the man that failed up in TV news and finally, his run at CNN is over.

Zucker made his mark as the one-time Executive Producer at the Today Show and many would say that was his last success story in TV news.

But, Zucker was able to parley his Today Show success into a job running the NBC network, where In fact NBC went from first to worst in the ratings.

After he left NBC, he went to work on Katie Couric’s talk show that also failed.

From there he somehow landed a job running CNN and many would say he ran it right into the ground.

From the missing plane non-stop coverage for months to giving Donald Trump and his campaign so much coverage it landed Trump in the White House, Jeff Zucker ruined CNN.

While Zucker was at NBC he worked with Allison Gollust and people say the two were “flirty” even way back then.

Zucker came to CNN and he brought Gollust with him to run the communications department at CNN.

Zucker got divorced from his wife and the rumors were flying back then that he and Gollust were doing more than working together.

Soon, according to CNN insiders that the two were an item.

Long before anyone else, FTVLive wrote about the relationship between the two.

“Everyone at CNN knew about the relationship,” said one CNN employee to FTVLive.

Yet, Zucker’s bosses at WarnerMedia looked the other way.

But then Chris Cuomo and his legal team decided to really stir things up. Cuomo, another Jeff Zucker hire was finally fired after a New York Times story showed Cuomo’s lack of ethics and how he used his gig at CNN to try and help fight off allegations against his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo of inappropriate conduct towards a number of women.

Chris Cuomo was under fire before that when he was bringing his brother Andrew on the show to try and prop him up for what a “good” job he was doing during the pandemic.

What is interesting is that Allison Gollust, a former Andrew Cuomo staffer helped to keep the Cuomo brothers segment going at CNN, according to insiders.

After Zucker finally fired Chris Cuomo long after he should have done so, Cuomo decided to throw Zucker under the bus and Zucker then threw Gollust under as well.

Jeff Zucker was fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a colleague, but if everyone already knew this and FTVLive wrote about it so long ago, why now?

Two reasons.

First, Chris Cuomo and his lawyers were prepared to spill the beans on Zucker and Gollust and all the shady things the two did at CNN, according to insiders.

Second, CNN’s ratings have been in freefall, and while the company heads might overlook the fact that their News President is sleeping with a colleague, they are not going to overlook the ratings tanking.

Because anyone that has been in this business for just a few minutes knows, it’s always about ratings, which in turn makes it about money.

Sleep with whomever you want, but don’t let the ratings fall while you’re doing it.
