Former Twin Cites Reporter Resurfaces

Last month, FTVLive told you that WCCO (Minneapolis) Anchor/Reporter Liz Collin had left the CBS station.

A number of people thought that Collin should have been gone from the station after they said she did interviews with local police union president Bob Kroll for the station.

Kroll and Collin dated and eventually got married.

Collin finally did leave the station in January with the station staying mostly mum on her exit.

Well, Collin has landed another reporting job and you might not be surprised in hearing where that job is?

Collin has joined the conservative Minnesota news site Alpha News.

Collin says that she will be able to cover stories that she was not allowed to cover at WCCO.

"There's a lot happening in Minnesota right now. Reporters need to be covering that and bring more things to the surface, and I feel like I wasn't allowed to do that in the last couple years," she said. "The last couple years I have been very limited in what I was allowed to cover, and I was suspended from my anchoring post that I held for a dozen years at WCCO. So I felt compelled to explore some other opportunities."

Alpha News bills itself as "focusing on politics and social issues you may not see in traditional media," Alpha News was launched in 2015 with support from the Minnesota Tea Party Alliance and other conservative political groups.
