Back on November 22nd, FTVLive posted a story with the headline, “HLN Gives Up on News”.

On Thursday the network confirmed that when as part of the Discovery/Warner Bros cuts, they canceled Morning Express with Robin Meade.

HLN, used to be called Headline News and it was a place you could turn and get all the important news that was happening in 20 minutes.

The network was gutted under Jeff Zucker and now, new CNN boss Chris Licht drove the final nail Into the coffin.

Meade, simply the best Anchor on HLN, or CNN was the last news program on the network and despite almost no budget for the show and no promotion, Morning Express would beat CNN’s morning show in the ratings. This is despite the fact that CNN poured millions into the failed morning time slot.

Meade had just celebrated 20 years at HLN and is very popular.

It’s sad to see a good show gone just because you have to meet some number on a balance sheet.
