Reaching Into the Viewers Pockets

Sling is one of the streaming services people have turned to in an effort to bring down the cost of watching TV.

But, even Sling is raising their prices by $5 a month and if you work in TV, you know why?

Sling executive Gary Schanman writes in a letter to customers, "“Raising prices for our customers is not something we take lightly,” Schanman wrote in the post. “We recognize that historically high inflation is impacting our customers every day and our goal is not to be another burden to your wallet.”

He then added, “However, Sling doesn’t own the networks you watch — we pay programmers for their channels, and the price of programming continues to rise,” he wrote. “We’re deeply committed to keeping costs low and continually work with programmers to provide service you can rely on, which is why we haven’t raised prices in nearly two years, maintaining a generous cost advantage compared to our competitors.”

Yep, it is all about those retransmission fees that stations continue to keep raising no matter what.

You can only be so greedy, before viewers finally say enough is enough. People continue to cut the cord at a rapid rate and TV stations answer to this is to ask for more money from those viewers that have stuck around.

Do they not see where this is headed?
