Anchor Loses His Voice Box

Mike Jackson was a main Anchor at WCMH in Columbus.

Back in January of 2019, Jackson did not show up to work and the staff at the station called the police to check on the anchorman. Police found Jackson in his home suffering from a stroke.

After lots of physical therapy sessions, Jackson was starting to cope with his “new normal” but then he was diagnosed with cancer that started in his throat and moved throughout his body.

The Anchor that delivered the news could no longer talk.

A Hospice minister Darryl Beckett encouraged Jackson to reach out to the community and tell his final story. He painstakingly typed out a message about his cancer to tell you where he is now WCMH told his last story.
