Over at Tegna’s WTSP (Tampa) Morning Met Rich Fields made a comment that made many inside out outside the newsroom cringe.

During some “happy talk” Fields makes the commnet, while talking about co-anchor Jabari Thomas, saying that if police checked his license, they might see he has a felony.

What?

Why would you say that about your co-worker?

The fact that Thomas is Black and Fields is white, some took the inappropriate comment as racist as well.

Fields bio is still up on the station’s website. He brags about being an announcer for "The Price Is Right," and then goes on to spout about his acting on some soap operas.

I know this makes him a perfect fit for the whole “Tegna thing” they got going on, but his comments were way out of pocket.
