What About That Story You Reported?

Before Halloween, there were over 1500 news stories done about how people were looking to pass out “rainbow fentanyl” to trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

A number of politicians talked about this and TV stations reported it like it was going to happen.

Halloween came and went, and there was not a single case across the country of rainbow fentanyl being handed out to trick-or-treaters.

Do you know why?

Because fentanyl is a very expensive drug and dealers are not going to hand it out for free. They also aren’t looking to get little kids hooked to a drug that they can’t afford to pay for.

Yet, 1500 stories were done to scare parents that this was a real thing and was going to happen.

Has any TV station that reported this story followed up with the fact that their first story was complete bullshit?

Just asking…
