Breaking the Golden Rule?
/There has always been a rule in TV news that you do not get time off during sweeps.
The unwritten rule has been around for decades and it appears that one Tulsa newsie is going to break it.
Insiders at Sinclair’s KTUL (Tulsa) say that Le’Ondre Harris has plans to be off next week.
There are two things that really stand out about this, besides it being the ever-important November ratings period.
Next week is also when the mid-term elections happen, and Harris happens to be the station’s News Director.
Say What?!
“I guess it's no big deal to our News Director or parent company Sinclair... despite the fact our newsroom is severely understaffed and half the staff we do have is young, fresh out of college and inexperienced,” said one station insider to FTVLive.
Did the bosses at Sinclair corporate sign off on this, or do they not even know?
If this does Indeed happen, it could set a precedent that could change the time off rules throughout the Sinclair stations.
