Bye Bye in B-More
/Longtime WBAL (Baltimore) Anchor Stan Stovall announced that he is going to retire.
Of course, he will wait until the last day of the November book to do it.
Stoval worked at WBA twice, first from 1978 to 1983, and again for nearly 20 years beginning in April 2003 until present. His career began in Phoenix in 1970 when he was only 17 years old.
"Stan has been recognized for journalistic excellence by multiple esteemed organizations across the state," WBAL GM Dan Joerres, said, "Most recently, he was inducted into the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Gold Circle, an honor awarded to individuals who have devoted more than a half century to the broadcast industry. It was a crowning achievement and tribute to an extraordinary career featuring outstanding contributions not only to WBAL-TV 11, but to the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland."
The station plans to milk Stovall’s retirement throughout November sweeps.
