Bounced Atlanta GM Resurfaces on Left Coast

Back in November, FTVLive told you that Gray Television was replacing WGCL (Atlanta) GM Deborah Collura when they took over the station from Meredith.

Well, Collura did not spend much time on the beach.

CBS announced that they have hired Collura as their new General Manager for KOVR/KMAX in Sacramento.

She replaces Justin Draper, who CBS moved to their Boston station.

“Deborah is joining us with a well-earned reputation as a dynamic and innovative leader that has been established over the course of her nearly 40-year career in local media,” said CBS boss Wendy McMahon. “We look forward to having her build on the solid foundation that has been put in place by Justin and the rest of our team in Sacramento, as we continue to deepen our relationships with the communities we are privileged to serve, play on the leading edges of innovation with the creation of compelling local news content, and promote a positive workplace environment for our colleagues.”

Collura has roots In Sacramento, she spent five years as the Assistant News Director at KCRA from 1986-1991.

That would mean that Collura was the Deuce at KCRA at the same time I was the News Director at KRBK in Sacramento.

KRBK is now KMAX and Collura will be the GM of that station.

What a small business.
