NBC is Not, but Nexstar is

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that NBC decided it will not send any of its announcing teams to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Despite the network spending billions of dollars to broadcast the games and bring them to viewers, NBC said that their crews will be calling the action remotely from NBC's Stamford, CT facility.

The network says it is due to COVID policies in China. NBC insiders tell FTVLive that the safety of its crews in China played a part in NBC’s decision to keep their people home.

But, it appears that Nexstar is still going ahead with plans to send some of its employees to China to cover the Olympics.

WCMH (Columbus) Anchor Matt Barnes posted a tweet saying that he is in self-isolation as he prepares to leave for China and the Olympics.

If NBC, which has much more invested in the Olympics and coverage is not sending its announcing teams, should Nexstar take another look at their decision to do so?

Just asking….
