News and Operations employees at the Scripps station were sent an email today, informing them that they will be getting a one time bonus and an extra day off.

Here is the email to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

When the coronavirus pandemic began last March, we moved quickly to adjust our operations focused on our three company priorities of protecting the health and well-being of our employees, serving our audiences and communities and maintaining business continuity. While for many employees this meant shifting to working from their homes, you were in a role that required you to continue to work at least 60% of your regular schedule from one of our buildings or out in the field.

Thank you for your sustained focus on our mission last year. We know that continuing to come into work throughout 2020, including during periods when many communities were in lockdown, brought extra challenges for you. Scripps wants to recognize the contributions you made to support the company with a special one-time discretionary payment and PTO allocation.

As a recipient of this award, you will receive a one-time payment of $1,000 to be paid in your Sept. 24 paycheck. You also will receive one additional PTO day. This PTO day will be added to your Other PTO bucket in Workday, and you will be able to make a one-time carryover of this PTO day to 2022, if you wish.
