You may recall, months back that NBC laid off a number of people in an effort to save money. The network said that the layoffs were due to the pandemic.

Now, with the pandemic still happening NBC announced that are significantly expanding its streaming and digital operations, with a substantial investment that will include adding 200 new positions and several new hours of live, original programming to NBC News NOW.

NBC says the new jobs are expected to be filled over the next several months and the new slate of NBC News NOW programming will debut this fall.

One former NBC staffer that was laid off by the network feels a bit confused at the network adding lots of digital jobs. “What irritates me most is I WAS in digital. Not sure what game they’re playing here,” the former staffer said to FTVLive.

It’s like the suits that run NBC have no problem playing with people’s lives. How do you sack a bunch of people and then turn around a post jobs that the people you laid off just a few months ago were doing.

I swear, the folks running the networks are the most inapt people out there.
