CNN Continues to Bleed Viewers

I don’t know what Jeff Zucker’s plan is for CNN, but clearly, it is not working.

Looking at the cable news ratings for the week July 28 to August 3, CNN’s ratings failed to hit 1 million total viewers for each of seven consecutive days.

CNN has averaged below a million in both the ‘Total Day’ and ‘Prime Time’ averages 14 consecutive weeks this year so far.

To put that ratings slide into perspective, in all of 2020, CNN's longest streak of not topping a million viewers was just two weeks. Now they are at 14 weeks and counting.

CNN continues to obsess on Fox News. It seems as if you watch any show on CNN, at some point they will bring up their competitor.

It seems to be working…..for Fox that is.

Fox News averaged 2 million viewers in primetime for the week of Aug. 2 to Aug. 8, topping the chart for all of cable (not just cable news) for the fifth consecutive week.

It might be time for Zucker and the gang to try pivoting.
