RTDNA Plans to Go Ahead with Conference
/For the past year and half, many of the TV conventions and conferences have been shelved and replaced by virtual events.
NABJ, NAHJ, AAJA, and others have taken their events to the virtual space in light of the pandemic.
RTDNA announced a while back they are were planning an in-person conference in late September. The conference will be held in Denver and for a while, it appeared all was good.
But, now COVID cases are spiking once again and RTDNA is now looking to keep the conference on track.
They sent out an email trying to get people to keep their plans on attending and tried to lay out what they are planning to do to keep those that attend safe.
FTVLive had planned on going to Denver and the conference, but we have now decided to skip it.
While the RTDNA might be taking strides to keep conference attendees safe, for us to attend, we would still have to get on a plane, rent a car and stay in a hotel. While the RTDNA conference may or may not be safe, there is still a lot of hours outside the conference while attending.
This is a portion of the email that the RTDNA sent out and they are hoping that colored lanyards will be part of the solution.
Ummmmmm….okay?
