After nearly 30 years doing late-night TV, Conan O’Brien wrapped up his career this week on TBS.

FTVLive.com launched in 2000 and we just plodded along doing our thing for the first 9 years.

But, then in late 2009, FTVLive broke the worldwide EXCLUSIVE that NBC was going to pull Jay Leno off his newly created 10 PM show and put him back at 11:30 PM, where Conan O’Brien’s show sat.

The story was huge and NBC tried to say that the FTVLive story was wrong. FTVLive was written up in news outlets around the world. Including right here in our hometown.

Many tried to guess how FTVLive was able to scoop everyone on the story, and no one has come close to how we did it?

Since that day, FTVLive has become a huge site for the TV industry and although we are geared towards those that work in TV news, it was the Leno, O’Brien story that put us on the map.

As Conan O’Brien signs off, we thank him for helping make FTVLive an overnight success, despite the fact that it took us nearly a decade to do so.

God Speed Conan and if you retire to Florida, look me up, I owe you one.
