Showing Bias in Philly

Yesterday, the Supreme Court unanimously sided with a Catholic foster care agency that says its religious views prevent it from working with same-sex couples as foster parents.

WPVI (Philly) Health and Medical Reporter Ali Gorman did not agree with the high court’s decision of the actions of the Catholic agency and said so in a social media post.

While Gorman is clearly entitled to her opinion, as a Reporter, she should have not shared her views publicly.

Now, if Gorman is covering a story involving the Catholic church, same-sex couple adoptions, viewers know where she stands.

As a Reporter, it is imperative to keep your opinions to yourself and cover a story fairly. she has now crossed that bridge and now that we know where she stands, can we trust her reporting on the issue?
